  • 1 tablespoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add sliced onions with a pinch of salt and cook slowly for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In another saucepan over low heat, combine 3 tablespoons of olive oil with red chili flakes, paprika, sliced garlic, and soy sauce. Heat gently for about 5 minutes.
  5. Toss drained pasta into the skillet with caramelized onions and garlic. Gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
