  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (or more, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (or more, to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces; season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat lightly in flour.
  2. In a deep skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat and brown the chicken in batches until cooked through. Remove from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced mushrooms and chopped onions for 6–8 minutes until nicely browned.
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic; cook for about a minute.
  5. Add chicken broth while scraping up browned bits from the pan; return the chicken to the skillet and cook for an additional two minutes.
  6. Gently mix in sour cream off the heat to avoid curdling; adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
