  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more if needed)
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 24 Hershey Kisses

  1. Cream the room-temperature butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the maraschino cherry juice and almond extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated; adjust with more flour if necessary.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped cherries.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls, roll them in granulated sugar, and chill for at least 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes or until baked through.
  8. Immediately place a Hershey Kiss in the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
