  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 8 oz grated havarti cheese
  • 4 tbsp finely diced turkey slices
  • 2 tbsp finely diced roasted red peppers
  • 2 tbsp finely diced banana peppers
  • 2 tbsp finely diced green onion
  • 2 tsp finely diced red onion
  • 2 dashes Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp salted butter

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the turkey, roasted red peppers, banana peppers, green onion, red onion, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  2. Place two slices of sourdough on a cutting board and top each with a quarter of the grated havarti cheese. Evenly distribute the filling mixture over each slice.
  3. Add the remaining cheese on top of the filling and cover with the other slices of bread. Butter the outside of each sandwich.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the sandwiches for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Flip carefully using a spatula and continue cooking until both sides are toasted and the cheese melts completely.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
