Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ¼ cups light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the unsalted butter until browned. Stir constantly until it turns chestnut brown and smells nutty (about 6-7 minutes). Let cool.
  2. Mix light brown sugar and granulated sugar into the warm browned butter until combined. Chill in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  4. Add room temperature eggs and vanilla extract to the cooled mixture; stir until well mixed.
  5. Gradually incorporate flour, oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until just combined.
  6. Fold in both types of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto lined baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart. Press down slightly on each dough ball.
  8. Bake for 11–13 minutes until edges are golden but centers are still soft. Cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
