Sourdough Garlic Knots are a mouthwatering addition to any meal, known for their tender texture and rich garlic flavor.   • 1 ¼ cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • ½ cup sourdough starter (active and bubbly)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup salted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly minced garlic

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the milk, honey, sourdough starter, butter, salt, and flour. Knead on medium speed for about five minutes until smooth.
  2. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about eight hours or until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare garlic butter by melting the remaining butter and mixing in minced garlic; set aside.
  4. Roll the dough into a rectangle (¼ -½ inch thick) on a floured surface and spread garlic butter over it.
  5. Cut into 18 pieces and tie each piece into knots. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 1-2 hours until puffy while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown; brush with more garlic butter after baking.
