  • 2 Tb unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 Tb all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 C milk
  • 1/2 C Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Whisk in 3 tablespoons of flour, 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano.
  4. Gradually pour in 1 cup of milk while whisking continuously until combined.
  5. Cook, whisking occasionally, until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
